Your Questions, Answered
What is integrative and functional medicine?
Integrative and functional medicine focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of symptoms. We combine evidence-based practices, advanced lab testing, nutrition, lifestyle strategies, and conventional medicine for a holistic, personalized approach to wellness.
How is integrative medicine different from traditional healthcare?
Traditional healthcare often focuses on managing symptoms. Integrative medicine takes the time to understand the whole picture — your health history, labs, lifestyle, and symptoms — to uncover underlying causes and support long-term healing.
What types of conditions can you help with?
We specialize in:
-
Women’s hormone health (perimenopause, menopause, PCOS)
-
Thyroid & autoimmune conditions (Hashimoto’s, hypothyroidism, inflammatory bowel disease)
-
Gut & digestive health (IBS, bloating, food sensitivities, microbiome imbalances)
-
Metabolic health & weight concerns (insulin resistance, stubborn weight loss)
-
Energy, sleep, and stress issues (chronic fatigue, insomnia, burnout, HPA axis dysfunction)
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we are now a hybrid practice.
-
Insurance-covered visits: Initial and follow-up medical visits to establish care, review history, and go over standard labs. Standard copays, coinsurance, and deductibles apply.
-
Cash-based services: Integrative Health Analysis & Review (90-min deep-dive into functional labs), IV therapy, vitamin injections, and specialty testing (e.g., DUTCH, GI-MAP, OAT, food sensitivity testing).
We also accept FSA/HSA cards for cash services.
At Integrative Insight, we believe everyone deserves access to compassionate, root-cause care — even if we’re not yet in-network with your insurance plan. If your insurance isn’t accepted, we offer transparent out-of-network, cash-pay pricing for all services. Many patients choose this option while we continue expanding our insurance partnerships. Upon request, we can also provide a Superbill that you may submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Our goal is to make care accessible, flexible, and personalized — so you can move forward with the support you need, regardless of your coverage.
What should I expect during my initial visit?
Your initial visit includes a comprehensive review of your health history, a discussion of your goals and concerns, and personalized recommendations, with 45 minutes dedicated to your care.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Scheduling is easy! You can book directly through our online portal or call our office during business hours for assistance.
Is a deposit required?
-
Insurance visits: No deposit required.
-
Cash-based services: A deposit is required to secure your appointment (applied to your total cost). Deposits are non-refundable if cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice or for no-shows. With at least 24 hours’ notice, deposits can be transferred to a new appointment.
Is integrative medicine evidence-based?
Yes. All recommendations and treatments are based on clinical research and are personalized to your individual needs.
Do you replace conventional medicine with natural remedies?
No. We combine conventional medicine with integrative strategies (nutrition, lifestyle, functional testing, supplements when appropriate) to deliver the most comprehensive care.
Will I need to take a lot of supplements?
Not necessarily. We recommend supplements only when they’re supported by your labs and clinical picture — our goal is to be targeted, not excessive.
Is integrative medicine only for chronic illnesses?
Not at all. While we specialize in complex and chronic conditions, integrative care is beneficial for anyone looking to improve their health, prevent illness, or optimize overall well-being.
Why not have everything go through insurance?
Most functional diagnostic tests (such as DUTCH, GI-MAP, or OAT) are not covered by insurance, even though they provide valuable insight into hormones, gut health, and metabolism. Insurance also restricts the length and scope of visits, which limits the time needed for comprehensive, root-cause care.

By using a hybrid model, we can provide:
-
Insurance-covered visits for your initial appointment and all standard follow-ups (reviewing symptoms, medical history, and conventional labs/diagnostics)
-
Cash-based services for advanced functional testing and the extended, in-depth time required to review and build your personalized plan.
This structure ensures you get the best of both worlds — coverage where possible, and access to comprehensive, root-cause care when you need it.
What should I expect during my initial visit?
Your first visit is billed to insurance. It includes a thorough review of your health history, symptoms, and goals, as well as ordering standard (conventional) labs and diagnostics when appropriate.

After these results are reviewed at a follow-up insurance-based visit, if it is determined that more in-depth functional testing is necessary, the next step is to schedule an Integrative Health Analysis & Review appointment (cash-based, 90 minutes).

At this visit:
-
We go over the results of your functional diagnostic tests (such as DUTCH, GI-MAP, or OAT).
-
You receive an in-depth, comprehensive, and highly personalized analysis that connects your history, labs, lifestyle, and symptoms.
-
Significant time is spent reviewing findings and building a step-by-step plan tailored to your unique needs.
-
Prior to your appointment, we conduct a detailed review of your records and results, so your session time is fully dedicated to explanations, connections, and actionable recommendations.
This level of care is time-intensive, thorough, and customized, ensuring you leave with clarity and a roadmap designed just for you.
